Social Networking

RUNmyERRAND.com

Ever feel overwhelmed with all the errands on your to-do list?  RUNmyERRAND.com can solve your problems.  They call it  “service networking”, and it seems to be a combination of Craigslist and eBay, where people can post errands they need run and others, who’ve signed up at the site as runners, can agree to complete them.

The concept is simple.  If you have things to do but not enough time to do them, you log onto RUNmyERRAND.com and post the errand with an amount you are willing to pay someone to complete your errand (typically between $5 and $20).  People who are looking to make extra money sign up for the website as runners and they can be ranked by people they have done errands for in the past.  If they see an errand they want to do, they sign up for it, complete the errand, and they are paid.

It’s a great idea - a new way to make social networking work for you.  My problem is that I wouldn’t trust strangers to pick up my dry cleaning, groceries, or dog for me.

Currently RUNmyERRAND.com has a beta for Boston.  If you have used this service, let us know what you thought.  If you haven’t used the service, would you consider it?
